Mayan Cacao Circle and Sound Journey

Join us for this special Mayan cacao ceremony, song circle & sound journey. Maia Balam Quetzal is visiting us from Mexico, and she will be sharing with us Indigenous traditions, cacao, songs, history and rituals from the Maya and the Mexica.

During this Celebration of Life we will commune with IX Cacao, an ancient plant known for its power to relax the body and open the heart. IX is known to the Mayas as the Goddess of the waters, love, fertility, abundance, trees and crops. The session will be enhanced with breathwork, guided visualizations, sound healing, world mantras, movement, Maya-Mexica cosmology and story telling.

The traditions that Maia works with are Mayan, Toltec-Mexica, and Inca, so for the first hour she will be sharing comparative mythology, cosmology and ancient folk tales of this tribes which will give you a proper context of our ceremony.

For the last 12 years Maia have been collecting and learning Mantras and Indigenous teachings from different cultures around the world, songs and mantras from the Maya, Mexica, Lakota, Tibetan Buddhism, Hinduism, Daime, Orishas, etc.  She will share these beautiful songs and traditions with you, along a very special ceremonial grade cacao blend that she brings all the way from Mayan Lands to this part of the world.

Songs carry the medicines and the essences of the places and people who created them, if a song was created in the Jungle, it transmits the jungle, if a song was created in the desert, it transmits the desert. We will be using this songs as tools to heal, decompress, ground and feel the universal love that music can transmit.
